Property management, also known as real estate management covers all aspects of operating an rental generating property, from finding & screening tenants to maintaining the property, collecting rent, and handling any issues that arise.

Normally in Malaysia practise, after a property agent has rented out a property, the owner takes over the responsibilities of all the aspects of the property management, from rental collection, attending to tenant’s complains, checking out the tenant when tenancy expires and etc.

In Malaysia, while there are property managers, most of them are only limited to building facility management that look after the common areas of a building thru the collection of the maintenance charges from unit owners. Any issues that arises within the owners’ property are usually not their in their work scope.
